Before buying a backlink, scan the host page for CSS-hidden links: display:none, visibility:hidden, font-size:0, negative text-indent. Classic PBN pattern.

Frequently asked questions
Why does domain age matter for SEO? +
Not as a direct signal (Google explicitly denied using raw age since 2010), but as a trust proxy. A domain active for 10 years with a coherent history inspires more user trust, accumulates more natural backlinks, and is less likely to be a throwaway. To buy a backlink, age informs the price-to-value ratio: a 6-month-old domain doesn't have the same authority as a same TF/DA on an 8-year-old domain.
RDAP vs WHOIS, what is the difference? +
WHOIS is the historical protocol (port 43, unstructured text, parsing fragile per TLD). RDAP is the modern IETF standard (RFC 7480 to 7484), JSON, structured, multilingual, supported by the main registries. This tool queries RDAP through rdap.org, which auto-routes to the right registry server based on TLD. For TLDs that have not yet migrated (rare in 2025), we fall back to publicly available data.
Why are some fields empty? +
Since GDPR (2018), European registries redact registrant contact details by default, name, email, address. The fields that remain public are registrar, key dates, status, nameservers. To obtain registrant contact details, either they must have waived privacy, or you have to go through the registrar contact procedure.
What does "Status: clientTransferProhibited" mean? +
EPP statuses (Extensible Provisioning Protocol) are locks applied by the registrar or the registry. clientTransferProhibited means transfer blocked by the registrar (classic anti-theft). clientHold means domain deactivated DNS-side (typically unpaid). pendingDelete means pending deletion.
